How accurate is it to model an adhesive as a standard CAD component with adhesive material properties?

Hi community,

I would like to simulate adhesive connections between several shell components to benchmark different attachement geometries.

As a first approximation, I was thinking of modelling the adhesive as a thin shell component with adhesive material properties in a linear static simulation, instead of using HyperMesh adhesive connectors.

How accurate would such a simulation be? Can it give a good first approximation?

Thanks!
