Default user profile Hypermesh

Is there a way to change the default user profile to 'Optistruct' for example?

I looked into the hwsettings.xml but could not find an entry which would change the option with which user profile hypermesh starts...

Thanks and best regards

    Hi

Simply provide -u and -a options on Hypermesh shortcut.

Look for startup options in Hyperworks Desktop Overview

Just to complete this, in case anyone is trying to look it up:

its -u<ProfileName> without a space... so for example: -uOptiStruct or -uAnsys

SubProfiles is done with -a .... so for example: -uAbaqus -aStandard3d

That will save some time :-)

All the best to you guys!

It seems in the newest version (2020), the -uOptiStruct does not work anymore. Any suggestions?

     C:/'Program Files'/Altair/2020/hwdesktop/hw/bin/win64/hw.exe -uOptiStruct

    leads to:

    File Files/Altair/2020/hwdesktop/hw/bin/win64/hw.exe  -uOptiStruct not found.

The following command works no problem for me:

     'C:\Program Files\Altair\2020\hwdesktop\hm\bin\win64\hmopengl.exe' -uOptiStruct

    Have you tried this one?

    'C:\Program Files\Altair\2020\hwdesktop\hw\bin\win64\hw.exe' -clientconfig hwfepre.dat -uOptiStruct

As you're calling the HWDesktop, it involves both pre and post solutions.

So inorder for this to work, you need to specify that you're launching Preprocessing Client (HM).
