How to delete the edges or lines on the surface when I import a .stl file
Hi all,
I am using Hypermesh of version 2017.2 to process a geometry.
We used Meshmixer to generate a surface geometry and export as the .stl file. However, the Hypermesh just regards .stl file as mesh when importing the file to it. And it looks like this after import:
I want to convert it into geometry first. So this is what I do:
Geometry > creat > surface > from FE
This is the setting of from FE:
The surface looks like this:
My questions are
1 What the points are on the surface? They are made by Hypermesh?
2 How to delete the edges on the surface? Because I need to assemble this geometry with another later, and the edges are redundant and a big problem for me to mesh in the future. And I have imported the .stl file into Comsol, and it regards the surface as a whole without edge. So I think the edges might be the features recognized by Hypermesh.
Thanks a lot!

Hi,
Thank you so much for the quick reply. I have toggled edges in this model. It looks like this:
It seems that the solid lines become dash lines and only one surface left indeed. Could I delete them and what they are?
Then I try to mesh it:
But get the report:
Error identifying faces
Is this related to the dashlines? Thank you.
