Is it possible to create a bidirectional composite ply???

If possible. Kindly give me a supportive document/tutorial to learn on their details...

In RADIOSS, check with LAW 58 material model which allows for warp and weft.

Presently i am working on composite leaf spring problem.I need a ply based.

I would like to know how does the solver will solve MAT58.....whether it ll be ply based or zone based....

In MAT LAW 58 we can able to create only one PLY...

how to create more bidirectional ply in single laminate...

Hi Jones,

The laminate will be a zone based.

You can create a ply based model in OptiStruct (with analysis type set to NLGEOM, IMPDYN or EXPDYN) and convert the same to RADIOSS format. This is a workaround you can try.

Currently one layer is only allowed with Fabric property.

could you please let me know what is the your use case and model definition so that I can suggest an alternative?

If you are using Orthotropic material, you can consider using LAW 25 for shell, LAW 14, LAW 12 for solid elements.

FYI,

One can create a ply based using PROP/TYPE 19 and PROP/TYPE 17
