Hello All,

How do I define different damping coefficients in tension and compression [ meaning expansion & contraction] in motionview for a shock absorber ?

Please suggest!

Hi Ankush - Please see the attached example as a reference to create your own. The damper force-velocity characteristic is modeled as a Curve entity. Important:

    1) Rebound (extension) is in 2nd quadrant and Jounce (compression) is in 1st quadrant.

    2) Make sure to change the SpringDamper entity on both left and right sides since non-linear components cannot also be defined as symmetric!

Thank you Ananth for your reply.

I'll try applying the same in my model and check.

    Thank you again!
