What happened to the Keyboard Shortcuts

Is there a list of new KB shortcuts for HWX 2022.1? Or are they gone?

How do I delete empty components (previously: Shift + F2)?

How do I translate with the option to duplicate (previously: Shift + F4)?

How do I measure a distance and create a node/point between (previously: F4)?

How do I edit a surface quickly (Shift + F9)?

And so on...

I can't be the only one who is frustrated by this.

This is so annoying.

The ability to assign commands to keyboard keys will be added in version 2022.2.

    Hello,
We have migrated several functions that you mentionned in the new workflow.
You can watch our Youtube Playlist maybe that will help you.
To clean up your model with unused or empty entities, you have the Validate ribbon :
    image
To select your most use functions, you can also parameter Toolbelt to have quick access.

But to answer you globally in the best way, you can schedule a meeting with your local Altair contact.

    Does it help you?

    Hi Arthur.

I understand that many of the operations now have an associated icon, but why remove the keyboard shortcuts? And why remove the panel access?

    F2 now does nothing. Why?

F4 switches to the Measure function, but I can't get the distance along components or set the reference system. And I can't create points/nodes between my measured locations. Why?

Shift + F9 does nothing. Why? I want to quickly split a surface with a plane at a point. Why can't I press Shift + F9, select the point, select the normal axis, and done? What's the point of that "saw blade" graphic and having to align everything graphically? This is supposed to be a professional analysis tool, not a video game.

Why not allow the panel alongside the icon options, so the users can choose to control the operations from the panel or from the icons? Or at least populate the panel control options in the hamburger menu of the icon options?

EDIT: Where is the "Abort" option when 2D meshing? Why can't I just abort the operation if I don't like where it's going? Why do I have to exit out of the operation, then either "undo" multiple times or delete the mesh that was created?

    Thanks.

It seems most of the Function Key shortcuts still work as of v2022.1. Most of them bring up the old Panels, some try to point to the new Ribbon functionality that tries to do what some of the old Panels do. There are a few that seem to not be working any more.

    • F2 (Delete) - Now use "Delete" key. F2 still works in Browser for Renaming.
    • F5 (Mask) - Now use HAIR keyboard shortcuts
    • F9 (Line Edit) - ?
    • Shift+F9 (Surface Edit) - ?

In return you get a gazillion new keybaord shortcuts, although it is very unfortunate they made them case insensitive, making assigning ctrl+shift and alt+shift seemingly impossible.

Not fully or consistently functional but there's a few alt key shortcut that sometimes work "Alt-f + e" for preferences, "Alt-f + x" to exit. YMMV.
