Process time

Hello,

in a geometry I have around 157 mappable solids. How much time it should take for hyperworks 2022 on a Wondows PC with 64GB RAM to mesh? and also is it normal, if the programm sometimes crashes?

I am asking this question because if the my PC is taking a lot of time than required then I can optimise the settings on my PC or get help from the Altair support to eliminate this problem.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards

    Hey Mahesh,

Crash isn't normal. A few suggestions:

    1. Did you take a look at your log file to see where the crash is occurring.

    2. Have you tried meshing the parts few at a time? Just speculating, maybe the element size is too small and HM is creating more elements than your machine can handle, or maybe there is a part in there that has a sliver geometry, that might be throwing off the mesher.

Thank you so much for your reply. The log files I have not cross checked. I will look into them.

I will also try your other suggestions.

    Hello Chayan,

i took your suggestions and it worked. But now when apply load to a face the software again becomes a lot slower. Even if i try to zoom in and out it takes a lot of time. If possible could you please also help me with it?

    Mahesh,

    Check the following 3 things:

    1. Element count. High element count can make the model behave slow. This is a function of the graphics card, drivers, ram and machine spec in general. Higher spec'd machine will will be able to handle higher element counts.
    2. Graphics Drivers: Upgrade to the latest graphics drivers, for best performance. Hopefully you have one of the Altair recommended graphics cards.
    3. Update to latest HyperWorks version available on the marketplace, so you are able to access the latest product updates.
