BatchMesher of imported STL

Hello,

I would like to use the BatchMesher to automesh a stl file. However, I always get 'Status=Error: Problem to load model'. I am wondering, if a stl import automesh is even possible with the BatchMesher?

Kind regards,

Tim

    Hi Tim,

BatchMesher is a tool that performs geometry feature recognition, cleanup and automatic meshing in batch mode for given CAD files

stl although generated by cad tools is not a cad file or a geometry file, it consists of tria elements and hence the error.

When I convert this stl to geometry using the surfaces from fe option of the geom > surfaces panel

then use this hm file to generate a mesh using batchmesher, giving the criteria and parameter files you had created

batchmesher produces a mesh as shown.
