Hi,

I did the tutorial and everything worked fine. So now i tried to use FBD on my project. An area of a part will undergo a topology optimization, but to save cumputing time i'd like to get the forces directly around my design space.

I created an OP2 file using FORMAT card with OUTPUT2.

when i tried to load it in the FBD Forces Tab, it loads quite some time, but then NO loadcases are listed. First i thought it might be because my model is too large (OP2 file was >3gb). Then i tried it again with a small model i created, just using a plate (shell elements) and applied two different load cases on it. created the OP2 file and wanted to read it. somehow, also here, it doesnt load anything.

-> HOW was the OP2 file of the tutorial 9010 (Ex2) generated?! they also use the FORMAT card with OUTPUT2.. is there something else i need?

thank you,

Michael

EDIT: i think i found the missing entry. the load steps need the OUTPUT GPFORCE that all forces and moments are calculated for each grid point.

lets see how it continues.. there might still be some questions =)

    Hi Parkash

    thank you for asking image/emoticons/default_smile.png' alt=':)' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' width='20' height='20'>

it finally worked the way i wanted it to be. the stress distribution is identical.

a problem was also the zero tolerance threshold that was too high.

    regards,

    Michael

    hi there.

In the same situation, I also successfully completed 9010, but when I was working on my own project, there was no op2. file, same question, in 9010, when was the op2. file generated?

ok, now i know, you have to compelet the simulation, in mean, "solve", and then, there will be a .op2 file.
