Archard Wear - Enable Deformation Option: Currect loads and wear rate calculated on worn geometry or original geometry?

I am currently working on a wear study for a cultivator tine using the Archard wear model. My question is:
If I activate the Enable Deformation option in the model options, are the tool loads that lead to wear calculated using the already worn geometry or using the original geometry?
In other words, does the tool geometry actually become deformed or smaller as the simulation progresses and does the current tool wear thus influence the further tool wear? Or is the wear rate always calculated in relation to the original geometry during the entire simulation time?
Many thanks in advance for your feedback.

Regards
HE

    Hi Hendrik,

The geometry is deformed every time step and the wear rate is computed on the deformed geometry. Therefore, the evolution of the particle shape affects the wear calculation.

    Best regards,

    Stefan

Apologies for the additional message - I meant to say that the evolution of the geometry shape affects the wear calculation.
