I made a sandwich panel with carbon fiber and aluminum honeycomb.
And i did a 3-point bending test.

I want to know when the bend occur.
but I only know when ply fail.

How can i solve it?

    Hi

It is not clear what you mean as "bend occurs". did you run model with OptiStruct or Radioss?

If you loaded the part in 3-point bending scenario, bending starts a instant that load is applied in the part.

The level of bending, or deflection, will increase as load increases.

Initially the relation between load and deflection may be linear, but if you go further eventually the relation will become non linear.

In short, if you monitor the contact force between the loading part and the composite part and the force reaches the almost null  after the part bends, It could indicated that part does not withstand any load.

    Ihope this is helpful
