Definition of Pretension Analysis

Hello,

I tried to simulate a pretensioned bolt. The model contains two rigids & a CBEAM that connects them. I open the Tool --> pretension manager and apply a pretension Force to the CBeam. When starting the analysis, this force is neglected however. What would be the right way to use the pretension manager & force on my model? There is a testfile attached to reproduce the issue (please rename from jpeg to *.hm).

    Hello,

I had a look at the model and the pretension force through the Pretension manager tool is defined correctly. However, you must reference this force in the 'loadstep/ subcase' also as a 'PRETENSION' entry and not as a 'LOAD'. If you change this in your subcase, the model will perform a correct analysis.

As you also asked for tutorials, here are some descriptions of pretensioned bolt analysis:

    Best Regards
