Press fit analysis
Hello everyone,
basically I wanted to simulate the pressfit. I dont know if this is the right way to do. I already worked with the basic tutorial existing in website using PCONT card where we define the clearence. In my model there is a clearence already included. So I thought of trying with non-linear quasi static large deformation and I ended with an error. I have attached my model. Also what is the better way to simulate pressfit ( I want to simulate the complete pressfit process). I have no knowledge with Radioss explicit solver. Please help me.
Thanks and regards,
Punith Guptha

To view previous iteration you can use NLOUT.
Yes, you can still use NLOUT and also you use NLMON to monitor Nonlinear simulation

But NLOUT is already used in the model. I do not see any H3d file in the location.
For that in control card you need to switch NLMON=Disp.
As far as i remember NLOUT= write last non convergent file
and NLMON= write all iteration in seperate H3D
Correct me @Prakash Pagadala if i am wrong?
OK thank you @Nachiket Kadu and thank you @Prakash Pagadala
I have a question regarding axisymmetric analysis. Is there any option available in Hyperworks for axisymmetric problem like in Abaqus?.If not, is Hyperworks working on that?.
I have a cylindrical component andI would like to mesh only 2D crosssection of it and finally see the results for 360 Degree. How can it be done?. I tried defining the symettric constraints for the 2D mesh and defined the line contacts between the mesh. But it is not working. I contacted Hyperworks-Germany support team and they said that line contact is not working with Optistruct. How can I solve my problem? I am not able to work with 3D model as it is taking lot of time. Please help me in this concern.
I am basucally looking to some parameter study for pressfit analysis of rim and disc by varing the length of press fit and angle and I am looking for the optimum. I think this problem can be handeled in Hyperstudy. This problem is non-Linear and if I work with 3D it takes huge time.
Please help me in this concern.

Hi Punith,
Is it possible to share the axisymmetric problem from Abaqus (PDF should do)?
I will check if I have any information.

Hi Punith,
This is possible in RADIOSS
Here is a reference: RD-E: 0800 Hopkinson Bar

Hello@Prakash Pagadala ,
I am just asking about the file for the Hopkison Bar as the example requires the input file.
Input File
High_strain_rate: <install_directory>/demos/hwsolvers/radioss/08_Hopkinson_Bar/High_strain_rate/SHPB_H*
Low_strain_rate: <install_directory>/demos/hwsolvers/radioss/08_Hopkinson_Bar/Low_strain_rate/SHPB_L*
Thanks!
