Shell element

Use 2nd order shell elements if you are using OptiStruct

I am using RADIOSS

See attached screenshot for Radioss shell element formulation.

That is for 4 node shell element...i want to use 8 node shell element.

RADIOSS do not support 8/6-noded shell element.

Any specific reason for 8 noded shell. 

What type of analysis you are trying at your end?

Just wanted to improve my simulation results as in many Literature I found they used 8 noded shell elements.

I am trying to simulate Incremental Sheet Forming process..I just wanted to improve simulation results..with help of 8noded shell elements.

Instead of working with 8-nodes shell, you can refine your mesh with 4-nodes shell.

CPU time will be increased, but you have better results (theorically!)
