How to prevent intersection/ collision with old "fit polyNurbs" shape without deleting the 1st run of optimization?

Sorry if this has been asked repeatedly before but I couldn't find the related posts. My question is rather simple. I have a previous optimization run for which I selected "fit polynurbs" to see the shape better. I then decided to change my optimization settings and do another run. The application warns me that the old fitPolyNurbs part collides with my original part. How can I get over this error without deleting the previous run's optimized shape?
