Hello I am just new to hypermesh,

and I have been wondering is it possible to input different value of friction force on two faces of a shell element.

I have been working with a cylindrical structure which has different friction force acting on the outside and inside of it.

By definition, a SHELL element does not have TWO faces!

So you have to work with SOLID element.

if you mean that you have 2 contacts 1 on each side, yes, you would be able to give different friction coeffs for each contact pair.
