I'm doing a design project that require a structural weight optimization. I need to know the assumptions Optistruct is using when doing weight analysis. How do I know this?
Hello Achmad, We are going to need to to give us more information about the type of optimization you want to do to answer your question. What optimization discipline ? (Topology, topography, shape...) What type of physic ? (Static, dynamic, heat transfer, buckling...)
One thing : we geenrally not talk about weight optimization, but mass optimization. In such case, the desired mass (complete mass of the model, or mass of the zone of interrest) will generally be used as objective, while other performances (stress, displacements, frequency, temperature, etc.) will be used as constraints.
