Extra component appears after exporting

Hi

I meshed a solid component and exported it as a solver deck. The model had only one component in Hypermesh. But when I imported the deck into LS-Prepost (LS-DYNA pre-processor), one more component showed up. It is a sheet of shell elements, which I previously generated to help mesh the solid but should have deleted in Hypermesh.

My question is, how can I detect a shell covering on a solid component like that in Hypermesh? Since there is only one component (i.e. solid component) shown in Hypermesh. I also tried [check elems] for duplicates and [face] for equivalents, but they fail to find the shell.

Thanks,

Ryan

    Hi,

    To verify mixing elem types:

    - Right click on your component on Model tab, select 'Isolate only'

    - Turn to Mask tab, at item Elements>3D , click on '--' will hide 3d elements, remains is 2D elements if any

    - F2 delete such 2D elements
