MAT4 Question...

Hi all,

I noticed today in the MAT4 (thermal properties) section of the materials panel that you can change values for k = and H = . I know that k stands for thermal conduction coefficient but does anyone know what the H exactly stands for? I'm not even sure what units might go with it either. I have searched online for material properties that have the symbol H but no such luck. Is it possible that the variable might be Greek but is substituted as H just for this software? Any help or tips on where to find the answer for this would be much appreciated, thanks!

    Hello Guys...

    Hello Rahul,

I have doubts regarding Thermal Heat Transfer Analysis. My Analysis is Transient Heat Transfer. So should I take only MAT4 only or Both Mat1 as well.

My second doubt is I got error message of A dependent d.o.f. of rigid elements is constrained in a SPC Set.

I used Tut: OS: 1090 Example...

    Please guide me...

    Thanks in advance

MAT4 card can be activated through MAT1. So you need to create a MAT1 first and within MAT1 use MAT4.

I answered the same question in one of your other forum post. Please check.

    Thank you for you Reply...

I also saw one comment from one of your colleague's communication regarding one Question (Rahul Ponginan) and so I only took MAT4 only. Because my guide also told me for Only Heat Transfer Analysis I Need only Mat4....

Secondary can you just tell me how can I give higher heat Transfer on the top of my Profile and Lower on the bottom? so I can solve my Problem further ...

    Thank you,

    Best Regards,

    Jay

Heat Transfer Analysis I Need only Mat4....

Nayak Sorry I missed one of your commnets that you are doing only heat transfer analysis.

If you have only Heat transfer and no structural analysis parametrs, you can just use MAT4 card.

Secondary can you just tell me how can I give higher heat Transfer on the top of my Profile and Lower on the bottom? so I can solve my Problem further ...

I will check this and will let you know.

What's the unit of k thermal conductivity?
