how to apply pressure along hoop direction
Altair EmployeeI need to apply pressure along hoop direction on a cylinder. pressure value vary along Z. Z is height of cylinder. And i do like below
Analysis -> Pressure -> equation = z ->Y-axis ->a cylindrical system.
But pressure generated is like below picture, and not along hoop direction, why? how can i do it correctly? thank you.

i have the same problem, don't know why it doesn't work.
If you can work with forces, try this. Forces (on nodes) works with cylindrical systems correct...

just ignore the cylindrical system and switch pressure direction to N1N2N3 (no select == direction is element normal)
so direction will be centripetal
