Hello,

I want to create monitored volume/gas inside a volume which is consists of only hex element. No shell elements are present.

How can I create MONVOL from solid elements.

Please suggest.

    Hi Pritam,

Please create a /SURF/PART set and recall the same while defining the monitored volume.

You can see the steps for creating monitored volume at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9qOKGbDA48&list=PL1u26y75SCrA_BOCLaSewVCNY7xRvCTnA&index=5

    Dear George,

I have seen this tutorial and its of shell element.

I tried by /SURF/PART, but the problem is, my component consists only solid elements. so when I am extracting set of SURF, surf is extracted on both side of the component (i.e. inside the volume as well as outside of the volume, as it has a thickness), as of i need only extraction only on inside of the closed volume.

    So how to do that.

    Thanking You.

    Hi Pritam,

You should put shell skin with VOID material to the volume boundaries and then create the /MONVOL.

Hii Pritam, was your problem resolved by this approach? i am in similar problem right now, and gave void material to shell elements, but error seems to be there so.
