CROD pretension very large displacements

Hello,

what I try to implement is an inner Ring connected to an outer ring by 'spokes' with a certain pretension.

These are defined as CROD elements, and a pretension force is applied via the pretension manager.

However, whereas a satic analysis is delivering tension/compression results for the CROD elements, the PRETENSION always fails due to large displacements happening either for the CROD elements (definition as adjustment) or the connected components (definition o the preload as force).

Does anybody know how I can fix this?

Is there maybe a problem in the connection of the CROD elements to the inner/outer ring? (Nodes defined as start/end node for the CROD element)

any help is very much appreciated.

Attached are three pictures, one showing the initial state, the other showing the deformed state when preload is applied, the third showing the model setup - as well as the .hm input file.

best regards and thanks so much

Can you try using Beam instead of ROD element.

CROD : Defines a tension-compression-torsion element (ROD) of the structural model.
