Coupling EDEM-Fluent in Batch Commands
Hello Every body,
I want to couple EDEM and Fluent in batch mode.
I read the link bellow about running EDEM in batch command:
But I couldn't find anything about coupling EDEM and Fluent, synchronize Fluent to EDEM timestep, how to continue simulation after interruption,...
Could you please guide me in this field?

Fatemeh

Hi Fatemeh,
The time synchronising comes from the Fluent side, not the EDEM side. A lot of the commands specific to the coupling are available in Fluent's TUI, but I can't remember if the synch command is there as well. You would have to check in Fluent's TUI once the coupling is loaded. From memory it's under something like:
/define/edem-coupling/
I think...?
Cheers,
Richard
Thanks for your answer Richard.
I asked about it in ANSYS forum but no one knows about it and they told me you need GUI for EDEM-Fluent coupling. It is not logical. There should be a way...
It should be a reference in EDEM or Fluent website. But I couldn't find.

I don't have access to the coupling at the moment but if you look in the TUI once the coupling is loaded, there are quite a lot of settings available there. As I mentioned before, I think it's under /defined. Have you checked to see whether the synchronise setting is one of them?

Hi Fatemeh,
Did you get any success with running Fluent-EDEM on a cluster without GUI? Thank you.
Hi Mahdi,
I didn't do that, no. I'm currently using Windows.
I have the choice between Windows and Linux. I initially wanted to use Linux, but when I saw it was not straightforward, I returned to Windows.
