"There are more number of degree of freedoms with double dependency than the number of independent degree of freedom"

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to:

  1. increase temperature (+40 °C) on the surface of the component
  2. maintain a constant distance between the two circles

How would you do that in a linear static analysis?

I've attached the file that I worked on "staffa_3". It gives me the error "There are more number of degree of freedoms with double dependency  than the number of independent degree of freedom".
Furthermore I'm not even sure that I've set the temperature constraint as you should.

Do you know how to do those two things? Thank you!

I've also attached a clean file "staffa_0".

    yes!

I'd like to simulate an increase of temperature (from T ambient=25°C to 65°C) that causes a deformation on the component.
I'd also like to create 2 constraints:

    • one that maintains the distance "x" constant even when there's a deformation
    • and another one that doesn't allow translation along the z axis on the surfaces marked with the yellow dots
