Problem with the creation of an isotropic antenna.

Hello,

I have a problem with the creation of an isotropic antenna.

Feko does not have a native isotropic antenna model, so I created the attached file ("Isotropic Antenna.txt" with a ".ffe" extension) which defines a far field antenna radiating everywhere:

- Re(Etheta) = 1

- Im(Etheta) = 0

- Re(Ephi) = 1

- Im(Ephi) = 0

I was waiting for a perfect spherical radiating diagram, but when I make this antenna radiating by launching the Feko solver, I obtain the attached images : a magnitude artefact at theta=0 for Etheta and Ephi, and an ugly result for the total electric field.

Would anyone have any thought about this ?

Thnak you in advance.

    Hi @Student ,

This is a problem of the display. Feko sees tiny differences and wants to show them. You can simply set the Individual Range to e.g. 1.41 - 1.42 and you should have a smooth image:

Thank you very much for your answer.

It works well and I now have a smooth image.
But I still find it strange that Feko computes a variable total field value while having the same Etheta and Ephi in any direction as input data.

    Thank you again.
