Dear all,

I kept getting the error and can't figure out the problem. Can anyone help please... Thank you first.

Basically, my system is set as this. I would like to allow my model to rotate but constrained by other point.

*** ERROR # 176 ***
 A dependent d.o.f. of rigid elements is constrained in an SPC set.
        grid id = 1741329
      component = 5
     SPC set id = 45

 A fatal error has been detected during input processing:

  *** ERROR # 176 ***

Thanks,

Edison

    Hi,

    the 2-end RBE2 must not be constrained at both ends, because one has been 'dependent' on the alternative

    Thank you, Tin,

    So how can I fulfill my goal to constrain the model? I would like to release the model one rotation DOE and constrain the rotation by the displacement of one the other node? like the figure below. Thank you!

    Thanks,

    Hi @Edison

    You can either try with RBE3 or use zero-length spring elements to constraint and attach the same to RBE2.
