Visualization of plies in Hypermesh having Radioss as solver

Hi,

I have been trying to model a laminate following the ply-based modelling strategy in Hypermesh with Radioss as a solver, creating first a property PCOMPP as template, then a Shape set (card image GRSHEL) with my elements, and then creating the plies (with their angle, thickness, material)... and including everything in a laminate (STACK) with Ipos=4.

The thing is that when I try to see the laminate (the thickness or the different plies with their color) nothing appears on the screen.

If I follow a zone-based modelling approach I am able to see the whole thickness of my part.

Am I doing something wrong when following the ply-based approach or is it not possible to see the 3D Detailed Element Representation with the Composite Layers.

Did you make sure that the elements also belong to a part that is assigned the PCOMPP property?

I attached a small example, it displays ok for me

1 caveat, if you have offsets defined (you have ipos = 4), then the offsets aren't shown yet in Radioss profile (either for ply or zone based) this is being worked on for future versions, but you should still see the 3d representation (without offset)

As you said, I was missing the assignment of the elements to a part.

Now I am able to see the 3D representation. Thanks!

Maybe another question related to the 3D representation is that I have specified in the LAM_STACK Z0=0 but the laminate is still symmetric with respect to the midplane? Is this also because of the need of offset visualization upgrades or can it be that I am missing another step.
