Slide Contact Convergence Problem

Hello there,

I am trying to model the gasket in an engine using MGASK. The contact between gasket and cylinder head should be set to Slide. However only freeze contact works. The slide or stick contacts does not converge. I tried Cntstab, ExpertNL, set NIN to 10, increased convergence criteria. None of them works. any comment on this issue would be appreciated.

Hi,

What type of analysis are you running?

Slide contact may not work if you are using linear static analysis as type.

Can you please confirm the analysis type?

I am running Non-Linear Quasi static analysis.

Can you share the .out file?

What type of load are you applying?

Paste an image of contact definition.

If you think it is a large displacement problem, please use PARAM,LGDISP,1 and check if this helps.
