What is residual run and how to make a residual run in hypermesh?

You need to set ASSIGN cards to your OS model, and run 'transient analysis' for the data generation.

Can you please tell me the procedure to make a residual run from start? If i have both the .mrf file & .h3d file, then how to start with ASSIGN control card. I mean how to use it in residual run. Or if you can please share any screenshot of model in which you have used it.
