We don't benchmark different types of CPU's however generally I'd say faster is better.
However when you are running EDEM on GPU with the latest CUDA GPU solver the CPU does very little during the simulation so type of CPU shouldn't impact the results. If your simulation is not GPU compatible then a CPU with most number of cores (assuming you have the licenses for them) and fastest processing speed is best.
