Wrong ply numbering convention

Hello,

I am currently doing the optimization of a monocoque car body (CFRP and Aramid-core).

Free-size optimization was successful, but I have some doubts/questions about size optimization.

As you can see in the following picture, I get 277 plies (which seems to be excessive) after the free-size optimization.

Furthermore, the plies designation doesn't comply the ply numbering convention (LPPSNN).

I don´t understand why, because I followed all the steps in the e-book 'Introduction to Practical Aspects of Composites'.

I can share you my model if necessary.

Thank you very much for any help and have a nice weekend.

Eric

    Hello,

    I had a look to the topic below and I partially solved my problem. I reinstalled Hyperworks without the 2017.2.2 hotfix and now I get 16 plies (original ply number = 4).

    However, the ply numbering convention is still violated. Do you have any idea why ?

    Furthermore, I become following message after the size-optimization :

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>image.thumb.png.7dfbdb5ff6628cb728b0d1258209fb24.png

    What does 'small design change' mean ?

    I find it strange that the mass is unaltered during size-optimization.

    Thank you in advance.

    Eric
