Intersection penetration

Hi Sandeep,

Intersections and penetration will affect the results. For example in non-linear analysis penetrations may produce unwanted stresses around zones and the load transfer maybe not as expected. 

ok. and what about intersections in model. and

for modal analysis is it necessary to remove the same. if not why?

@Nachiket Kadu Penetration is thickness overlap & intersection is elements is completely passing through another. please make me correct if am wrong. pls find the below intersection image for your reference.

Are you going to connect it with rigids?

in image you can see red colour  elements intersected in yellow that is not going to connect with rigids. only bolt locations will be connected 

So anyways you are not going to have a contact there right? If so then without contact it may hardly affect the solution stiffness.
