Coil modeling in Flux 2D

Hi,

I am trying to model a single-phase machine on Flux2D and I have a question about coil modeling.

I have found the picture below in a document and from what I understand it requires a stranded conductor plus an inductor and a resistance which are used to model the front and back parts of the coil, which are therefore not represented in 2D. But according to my knowledge the inductance of a wire line is really negligible, so why is it necessary to put a value for it ? I also performed some tests and the resistance seems to match the resistance to be entered in the stranded conductor component. The document might be too old for the version I am using (2018.1.2) so if anyone has something more accurate and which can help me, I would be thankful.

Aurélien.
