Splitting Solids with lines

I going through an optimization and I want to split bodies to design and non design spaces.

When I use the 'trim with lines' tool and select sweep all, the part is trimmed with the contact surface in yellow, however when I specify a length for the sweep, that does not go through all the body, the part is trimmed with the contact surface colored in red.

I have seen in a tutorial that yellow is a shared contact surface, which is what I need, so I guess red means the trimmed body will be free which will make it unusable.

I was wondering how can I solve this issue ??

I attached 2 screenshots where the first the sweep goes through all the body, the second one it goes only third of the way.

When you see red area from trimming operation, it's not so good! You will have some issue with meshing on it.

Try another method to split the solid.
