I want to ask to you one question. We are using the programme that altair inspire 2021 for our finally project with my friends and we didnt understand somewhere. We are making analysis subject of additive manufacturing suppor structures. The weights of the support structures do not change for the same thickness when we use the straight support structure or when we use the branched support structure. What is the reason for this? The following figures show the situation we are talking about. Thank you for your interest.imageimage

    Hello Beyza.

To compute the weight of the supports we are using the total volume of the support block. so it is an average.

This is to allow users to compare the amount of support for different orientations and not for different support types.

Hope I have answered your question.

Thanks a lot for your feedback and let us know if you have more questions!

    Hello,

It seems that supports are shell bodies (2D wall supports and not volume support) in both the cases. Because of that, it might be showing you same exact weight for the supports.

    Regards,
