How can I convert section of 3D mesh to 2D mesh?
Hello everyone,
I have a difficulty to convert section of 3D mesh into 2D mesh.
Let me explain my situation.
I have a 3D tetrahedral-meshed model and I'm performing analysis on specific section.
But since I have many DOE, I often need to modify the mesh.
I think It is more easier to performing analysis using a 2D simulation.
But I don't know exactly how to convert a specific section of 3D mesh into 2D mesh.
Please let me know how to do this.
Thank you!

Hello,
I am not sure there is anyway to "convert" a 3d mesh to 2d mesh.
But I would recommend looking at Midmesh for extracting a mesh from the 3d topology

Sorry. Maybe, My inquiry was unclear.
Well… Here is the example image from web.
if I want to get a 2D drawing(mesh or just outline of each components) of specific section from a 3D Tetrahedral-meshed files, Is it possible in the Hypermesh 2021?
Thank you,
I am sorry, I am still not following you. Are you looking to extract the surface mesh?

Or extract a section cut?
You could use this tool to make the section cut and extract the sketch to be used for meshing
