How to account for multiple reflections in Physical Optics scattering from a dihedral?

User: "Florindo_96"

Hello everyone,
I’m simulating the scattering from a dihedral structure made of two flat surfaces forming an angle. I'm currently using the Physical Optics (PO) method in FEKO to compute the scattered field. However, I’ve noticed that multiple reflections between the two surfaces (e.g., a ray bouncing from one face to the other before radiating) do not seem to be taken into account.

Is it possible to include multiple surface interactions (multi-bounce reflections) when using PO.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

    Hi @Florindo_96 ,

When setting the solution method on a given face to PO, you have multiple options, one of which is PO-full ray tracing. You can try this option to include multiple interactions between the faces.

Thank you for your comment and for your suggestion regarding the Tag.
I am already setting PO-full ray tracing on both faces, and the results I obtain when evaluating the bistatic RCS are close to those obtained with RL-GO using juste 1 multiple interactions, and significantly different from those obtained with RL-GO considering only two interactions.

I'm using the software FEKO 2025.
