Please let me know how I can see the broken bond in the bond status plot

    Hi,

For case 1 it maybe that you can't see the bond as the particles are overlaying this. If you de-select 'display all particles' you should be able to see the bonds:

Depending on how you have set it up you may have to de-select display meta-particles

But then you should be able to see the bonds

If you want to show both together you can set the opacity of the particles to less than 1

You don't have to use Contact Radius for Fibers bonding but you can use it. The bond will exist so long as the contact radii overlap which allows for greater flexibility and also can help with the analysis.

Related to this and your second point we only see the bond status if there is a contact. If the particles have separated such that there is no contact then no data, like bond status, is recorded.

    Hello Stephen,

Thank you for telling me about opacity. I still do not understand about bond status. I am giving you more details here please see this and let me know why I do not see the broken bond. I am also giving you an example tutorial of particle replacement for your reference.

For Reference:(Please see the highlighted red boxes)

Now this is what i see in my simulation

    image.png

The picture on the left shows you before the bond breaks and the picture on the right shows you the time step immediately after the bond broke. (Note: I have given a contact radius of 100 microns so that the particles are in the vicinity of each other. When it broke)

Please tell me why do i not see the red colour broken bond indication in the picture on the right.

Hi, it looks like there is no contact at that point, which is why there is no blue broken bond. I am not sure why no contact is detected as it seems like there should be with the large contact radius.

Just to check if you set the large contact radius before the particles were created? Particle properties like the radius only get applied if it is set in the Creator before the particles are created . If you change the radius after the particle is created then this change is only applied to new particles, not existing ones.

    Regards
