Flat Panel Post-Buckling Analysis with Implicit Method using OptiStruct
Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to obtain files (*.fem , *.hm) or more detailed procedures to reproduce the analysis related to the “ Flat Panel Post-Buckling Analysis with Implicit Method using OptiStruct” study, from Yuhao He, Senior Project and James M. Gilbert, Engineer Chief Engineer
Ref. :Post-Buckling Analysis with Implicit Method using OptiStruct_190219.pdf,
I’m interested about “imperfection =translating nodes randomly”; “damping” and “Contact” FEM configuration.
Thanks,
seb

Hi Seb,
You may see the .fem files in the attachments. One file contains imperfection and the other contains all contacts and stabilizations.
I used a script to randomly translate all nodes with small distance, but I cannot find the script now. If I remember correctly, only the perfectly flat panel needs imperfection to initiate buckling. More complex structure has "imperfection" in the geometry itself and thus doesn't need artificial imperfections.
Thanks,
Yuhao
