Hi,

i want to set composite failure as my output response, but why has my number of plies become double which consist of slice 1 and slice 2? (see attached picture). What do slice 1 and 2 mean? Should i select all the plies?

ideally you would need to look at the maximum failure of all plies, so, yes, you should select all plies.

Slice 1 and 2 are the sub-layers where these failures are outputted. This is controlled by the NDIV control in your CFAILURE card, which controls the number of sublayers for each plie. if NDIV=2, 2 slices will be written, as the top and bottom of your plie. If NDIV=1 only midlayer results will be written.
