CFL limits in AcuSolve
Hello expert,
I'm doing a transient simulation: filling tank.
My tank is very big and the estimated filling process should take 7 hours to complete.
How should i choose the time step for my transient analysis?
7 hours = 25200s.
If i take the time step is 30 sec. the largest CFL number is 30000 >> i think this is not acceptable.
So may i know what is the limits of CFL number in AcuSolve?
I'm using Spalart - Allmaras turbulence model.
I couldn't find any document about this limits. and AcuSolve brochure even saying that it doens't depend on CFL.
But there should be some limit, right?
Thanks!

Hi,
Usually you can go up to a CFL number of 10. Given that, looks like 7hrs is too long to simulate. Can I know what the objective of this simulation is?
Thanks,
Ravi
hi Ravi,
Thanks for your response.
I want to simulate our filling process.
The inlet gas is H2 while the initial tank is filled with air.
I need to check after filling for 7 hours, how much oxygen is remained inside the tank.
If there is much oxygen inside the tank, it is dangerous because of explosion.
