Greetings Sterling Persons!!!

I am using the Box-Plot facility of Rapidminer and am enjoying it very much.

There is, however, more information in these box-plots than I am used to, e.g. a "whisker" on the side.

Can anyone help me with a link to an explanation of the format of these wonderful data presentations?

All the best,
Peter

    Heya Peter,

you confused me a bit - you write box plot, but what you actually mean is the quartile plot ;)

In the quartile plot, the box depicts the quartiles, the horizontal line the median, the point and the vertical lines the mean and the standard deviation, and the whiskers represent the 95% quantiles. The stray points at the outside are the 5% of points on each side which lay outside the 95% quantiles.

    Best regards,
    Marius
