    Hi Al,
Would you kindly post on how you solved your multi-column question. Was it link to a documentation page or a 'how-to-video' or ?? And we can then select that solution as 'Best Answer' to share with all whom might be wondering the same thing.  Thank you.

    Hello Rebecca:

Thanks for the follow up.  Yes, actually I was able to utilize the How-To library re: "Multi-Column Reports" to get guidance for my question.  However, after the additional study, I was not able to completely resolve my question.

My problem involves trapping data from bank statements where the format of the reports has Variable Names (Columns) as Rows and the Data Values also in Rows, as below:
    image

My desired table output is as below:

    image
From my study of MCR, I am not getting the complete understanding how to accomplish this.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Hi @Al Rice,

I would treat this as a regular report because you can use a detail trap to capture all of these fields. The key is to extend the length of the trapping line to cover all of the lines of a record. So in your example I would highlight from Check Number all the way down to Account Manager, because that constitutes an entire record.

Let me know if that makes sense.

    Hi Baba:

Sorry... I am not getting it?  How to distinguish Field Names from Data in your reply?.  Also note my example is less complicated, as there are two sections of the bank statement.  While the report detail would be same, there is a Section Name which separates the detail.  As there is Transaction Detail there is also a Deposit Details section.

I am sure I can do this, I am missing something subtle from your reply.

    Thanks

    Hi @Al Rice,

Here are two models for your review. The first one is a detail that grabs the entire section. This is good for reports that are consistent in spacing. The second is a model that has 1 detail and multiple group footers for each line below the detail. This is more powerful because of it's use of the floating trap, as well as the specific trapping for each line.

Let me know if these help to shed some light on how to do this.

    Hi @Al Rice ,

I sent you a reply privately. Maybe I can help you take a quick look at this offline to give you some quick pointers. I believe you're also very close to solving this.

    Thanks Baba

Both models will work.  I am leaning towards the second one, as there could be some variability in the 1st model.  I will check back in when I get the models ready for production/recurring use.

    Thanks
