1D Section Properties?

Hi,

This is a dumb question but I'm kind of lost!

Could anyone tell me where I can find definition of the cross section dimentions (like l,h,b1,b2,t1,t2 and t3 in the attached capture screen)?

If the cross section is a circle, obviously the only dimention to be defined is the radius but how about an I-section!!!? I tried the HM documentation but I didn't find anything there!!!

Thank you,

-Sam

    Hi Sam

parameters in card image is solver specific

    Hi maysam,

For defining the cross section for 1D Elements, Go to 1D>Hyperbeam>Standard Solids> Standard section library (Will allow u to select the type of solver)> Standard section type (Example Select 'Solid Circle')> Create

Will open 'HYPERBEAM VIEW' There u can define the parameters.

Note: Before that u have to create a 1D beam property.

    Hi,

In Ansys profile the beam element type created is beam188 type.

Please go through the attached tutorial which shows the same.
