how to give initial velocity or initial displacement to an 1d spring element
try Creating a node at the end of the element. and then select nodegroup in the BC Manager and give initlal velocity..(its just my idea)
Spring element will be created between two nodes. So u can give initial velocity to either of the nodes by BC's Manager /emoticons/default_smile.png' alt=':)' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' width='20' height='20'>
