Using/modifying imported lines in your model

Hi everyone, my name is Aaron and I'm new to solid modeling as my background is in FEA. 

I have a surface I imported as a parametric file into Evolve and I want to use the lines from the imported geometry to complete the outline for my part. It is a bike rim mold and I want to use the outer surface/line of the mold profile to complete the mold model. Is this possible?

    Hi Aaron,

     

    do you have tried the 'Extract Curve' function (at curve panel or menu->tools->curves->edges/sections->extract curve) ?
