Hello everyone,

What's the meaning of message which showed in solver view window (As I know, the same message is also written to _0001.out file). The figure below shows an example of the output message.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>RadiossOutputWindow.JPG

What's the meaning of every column parameter, especially the ERROR parameter? What's more, the ERROR becomes 99.9% implying  what?

Best Wishes.

Roy

    Hi Roy,

    I recommend you to go through the crash ebook which can be downloaded from   http://www.altairuniversity.com/free-ebooks-2/free-ebook-crash-analysis-with-radioss-a-study-guide/

    And please go through from page 201, which describes about checks during analysis. Engine output file diagnostics is well described there with the workarounds to rectify the same.

    Hi George P,

    Thank you for the ebook.

    From the description of energy error in page 204,

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>EnergyError.JPG

    However, in my case, the initial energy was not null (It can be proved by the figure showed in first floor with cycle 0), the energy error reach 99.9%. What's the possible reason for this? The energy plot was showed below.

    Hi,

    In your curve the contact energy is coming around 3 time higher than the KE. This might be  due to the penetrations in the contact interfaces and thus in order to remove this penetration,  certain force is applied to displace the nodes to allow no penetration. Work done by this force causes higher contact energy. Kindly check the penetrations in the model for interfaces, remove them and try to run the same,

    Hi Roy,

    This energy error can happen due to too low time step because of mesh size or penetrations in structure. Please check the model for any penetrations and also check the contact interfaces, if defined. Also check for any incompatible kinematic conditions in the model which can lead to high energy error.
