Linear heat transfer - thermal boundary conditions

Hello everybody,

I'm currently working through the 'heat transfer tutorials' and trying to realize some simple examples, in order to understand the modelling of such problems for my master thesis.

Similar to the tutorial OS-1080, I modelled a glass plate (window) with a defined heat flux from the inner side of the window and a defined outside temperature (-3°C). I would like to calculate the inside temperature. The results of the analysis are the same compared to my calculations (12°C). I attached the model of this analysis (window_outside.hm).

Now I would like to change the problem and set the inside temperature (12°C) as known. The heat flux remains the same and I would like to calculate the outside temperature (should again be -3°C). When I try to apply the temperature of 12°C as a SPC to the nodes on the 'inside' of the window (where also the heat flux is applied through CHBDYE elements), I do not get the correct results.

Where is my 'mistake' in this model? Is there a possibility to model this problem?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards

Carsten

    Hello again,

I would be very thankful for an answer.

Is it possible to apply a heat flux on CHBDYE elements and also apply a temperature as SPC on the nodes of the same solid elements?

In my example I have the heat flux and the temperature on/through the same surface and want to calculate the temperature distribution in the component.

    Thank you.

    Best regards

    Carsten
