Laminate option (strange results)

Hello,
I am currently working on a carbon fiber monocoque.
Using the symmetric option on the laminate i noticed that adding some rohacell to the laminate increases incredibly the displacement with respect to the same laminate using only carbon fiber.  Using the smear core option instead i obtain reduced displacements as expected. I can't figure out why, especially since using rohacell with the option symmetric or smear core, in the formula sae tutorial monocoque, gives very similar results.

    Hi Pietro,

     

    Where are you adding the foam in the laminate when you are having the laminte type as symmetric?

     

    Can you only plot the displacement for the Rohacell?
