Enforced Displacement

Hi Bro Good evening.

I have to find the insertion force and the removal force. Since the geometry is complex hexa mesh is very difficult so I have to go with tetra mesh. I have tried the enforced displacement lateral force analysis method where the results are not correct.

The problem description is as follow.

  1. To find out the insertion force. (<90 N MAX)

  2. To find out removal force. (F=90N MIN and 150N MAX)

Since there is no tutorial for this kind of analysis. Can you explain me what I have to do next. Thanks in advance...

    Hi Vijay,

I can see it is a interference fit, do you have friction for your contacts?

What type of analysis are you doing?

Provide friction if you did not apply any friction for contact and check the contact forces.

Hi Prakash Thanks for the reply. I was able to solve it thanks

But due to my co-ordinates system the axis of the rod is not perpendicular to the clip. I was trying to edit or create the axis system but I was unsuccessful. Can you guide me in creating a system or editing the available system. The blue dots in the picture above the rod represents the direction of the axis system.

    Hi Vijay,

Are you trying to position the rod along the clip?

But due to my co-ordinates system the axis of the rod is not perpendicular to the clip.

Do you mean the rod axis should be perpendicular to clip axis?

There is no way you can do it in HyperView.

    Hi Prakash

Yes I'm trying to position the rod along the clip. I created an axis system and with reference to the clip and it worked. Thanks for your feedback
